i recently posted my school morning routine and in that post i said how it took me around a hour and a half to get ready. because of that post i realized that i could totally cut down that time to a hour or even less. so here are a couple of things i have been trying recently and also some of my favorite tips that i have been using for years!( ok maybe not years but like a while lol)
prep EVERYTHING the night before
this is something i literally always do. before i go to sleep i shower, pack my bag, make my lunch, make my coffee for the morning, lay out my outfit, and i like to go through my morning routine and find things that i can do the night before like straighten my hair or lay out my makeup. its really nice to wake up in the morning and just know that pretty much everything is already done for you.
limit your products
ok this might be just me but i genuinely dont understand how people spend 20 minutes on their makeup and 15 minutes on their skin routine, like HOW. i have around 2-3 products in my skin routine and less then 10 makeup products, because it makes life easier. now im not saying to stop washing your face and putting on makeup all together. just keep a small bag of your staples, products that you could literally not live without and just use those.
have something to look forward to
im basically just telling you to reward yourself with something if youre on time. i like to spend extra time picking out my outfit ( the night before obviously), because i find then that my more excited to get out of bed earlier and get started with my day. but it doesnt just have to be an outfit, make some bomb coffee or make your favorite breakfast, whatever you want!
have a set routine
if you know exactly what youre going to be doing in the morning then you will be less frantic and more in control. also, once it becomes a habit you can probably do it with your eyes closed so then you get more sleep win-win! but seriously, i find that when i have a set routine it gives my day structure and makes the transition from bed to school or work so much more easier!and i love writing down what im doing in the morning in my planner!
get your beauty sleep
i know how hard it is to go to bed at a decent hour. and know that you cant go from a night owl to a morning bird in one night, but make it one of your goals. you will feel so much happier. so try saving your binge watching nights to the weekends!
